Hollister Incorporated CEO, George Maliekel announced in early January, that the company has donated $14,000 to St Vincent de Paul Society which is on the front line, supporting those affected and who will be impacted for some considerable time. The Australian bushfires have had a significant impact to people, communities, properties and wildlife, and the losses weigh heavy on the hearts of Liberty Medical and Hollister Incorporated employees around the globe.
Joe Ozzimo, Managing Director of Liberty Medical ANZ, said he was “humbled, not only from the donation by our global parent, but also from the many individuals and employee stories around their own personal donations to bushfire assistance.” Liberty Medical also reached out to Australian Ostomy Associations with an offer to replace any Hollister or Dansac supplies that may have been destroyed or are inaccessible due to the fires.
- Through the bushfire fund the St. Vincent de Paul Society nonprofit will help to:
- Provide food, clothing, essential items and grocery vouchers for people who have lost everything
- Pay unexpected bills as people work through the recovery process
- Make referrals to other organizations providing crisis accommodation and special services
- Give much-needed emotional support, as well as practical assistance to pick up the pieces after homes are lost
- With our mission to make life more rewarding and dignified for those who use our products and services, Hollister Incorporated has been serving healthcare professionals and patients for more than 95 years.
Liberty Medical continue to supply Hollister and Dansac Ostomy and Continence products across Australian and NZ.
Denise Barr, a Liberty Medical employee for over 15 years, reinforced the company mission, saying;
“It really is in the toughest of times that people and organisations walk their talk. Working with an organization that has a community led purpose, is the reason why I continue to feel proud and rewarded everyday by what we do.”
